Edward John David Redmayne is a British Actor, but we know him better by Eddie Redmayne. He was born in Westminister, London in 1982. He was born to a mother who runs a relocation business and a father who works in corporal financing. His great-grandfather was Sir Richard Redmayne who was a civil and mining engineer. Redmayne also has 2 brothers and a half-sister.
Redmayne got married in December of 2014 to a publicist named Hannah Bagshawe. They have 2 children together named Iris and Luke, born in 2016 and 2018 respectively. Redmayne became an Officer of the Order of the British Empire in 2015, which is a huge achievement. Eddie Redmayne first realized his love for acting when he was just 10 years old. Redmayne went to the same college and at the same time as Prince William. After he graduated, Redmayne continued his education at Trinity College in Cambridge where he eventually graduated with honours. Eddie Redmayne first went into modelling before he started acting on stage in 2002. He started acting in movies in 2006 in the movie Like Minds. Even though he was acting in movies, he continued to do stage performances. Some of his stage performances include plays such as: Twelfth Night, The Goat or Who Is Sylvia, and Now or Later. He did take a break from stage acting between 2012 and 2021, when he appeared in the stage play Cabaret. After Redmayne began to act in movies, he continued his career to act as iconic characters in films like Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them where he portrayed Newt Scamander, Les Misérables as Marius Pontmercy, and The Theory of Everything where he played Stephen Hawking (Redmayne became a patron of the Motor Neurone Disease Association because of this role). Eddie Redmayne had several acting awards and nominations given to him from his acting in theatre and in films. He received several awards for his role as Stephen Hawking alone. These awards included: The Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award, Academy Award, and the Best Actor in Leading Role Award. He also received other awards such as a Tony Award and two Olivier Awards. |
