Welcome back to the Top 10 Songs!
Some of you may remember this list from the Wizarding Times. Well, I am happy to say that it is making a comeback, now in the Howler! This spring edition consists of some familiar favourite artists, such as Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift and Morgan Wallen. Check below to find out more about this month’s HOT 10 Songs 1. Flowers - Miley Cyrus
A song that took the internet by storm. This song was written by Miley Cyrus, Mic Pollack and Aldae, and features on her new album called 'Endless Summer Vacation'. The story of this song can be summarised in one word - revenge. It has been confirmed that Miley's ex-husband cheated on her with over 14 women during their relationship. During the early years of their relationship, he dedicated her a song called 'If I Was Your Man' by Bruno Mars. This song, in particular the chorus, is sort of a reply to that song. 2. Last Night - Morgan Wallen If you follow this list, then you have probably heard about Morgan Wallen before. His song 'Last Night' was written by John Byron, Ashley Gorley, Jacob Kasher and Charlie Handsome for Morgan's new album called 'One Thing at a Time'. The song tells a story about a man who has rekindled his relationship with an ex-partner and hopes that they will be able to become a couple again. 3. Kill Bill - SZA This song was released in December 2022, and since then has become really popular on TikTok. Written by SZA, Rob Bisel and Carter Lang, it is one of the tracks on her new album called 'SOS'. The song is a reference to the iconic movie 'Kill Bill' directed by Quentin Tarantino and is loosely linked with the motive of the movie. 4. Die For You - The Weeknd and Ariana Grande Yet another successful song by the two wonderful artists who often collaborate. This song is not really new, as it has been around since 2016, and features on The Weeknd's album called 'Starboy'. It was written by Cirkut, Billy Walsh, Cashmere Cat, Sir Dylan, Prince 85, Doc McKinney and The Weeknd. The song is about loving someone so much that they would prefer to die for them than lose them forever. 5. Anti-hero - Taylor Swift Yes, she is back again! Taylor never stops being a successful artist and is back on the Hot 100 list with her new song, which was released last October. Written by Taylor Swift and Jack Antonoff, it features on her 2022 album called 'Midnights'. The song is about the insecurities of the singer, tells about her struggles in life, and is one of the most personal songs she has ever written. 6. Rock and a Hard Place - Bailey Zimmerman I have not heard about this singer before so I am proud to add him to this list for you all to hear some of his music too. Written in June 2022 by Heath Warren, Jacob Hackworth and Jet Harvey, it features on his newest album 'Leave the Light On'. The song tells a story about his feelings after he broke up with his partner. 7. Thought You Should Know - Morgan Wallen Yup, more Morgan is on this list! His song, which was released in early May 2022, also features on his album 'One Thing at a Time'. It was written by Nicolle Galyon, Miranda Lambert and Morgan Wallen. This song is very personal to him and is dedicated to his mom. 8. All of the Girls You Loved Before - Taylor Swift The newest song by the artist is already on the Hot 100 list and is probably still going to be there for the next TOP 10 song list here in The Howler. The song was released on the 17th of March and was written by Taylor Swift, Ging and Louis Bell. It was supposed to feature on her 2019 album 'Lover' but was not included for some unknown reason. The title of the song gives the meaning away. It is a letter to a boy, praising him for the respect and faithfulness he had towards his ex-girlfriends. Taylor however, wants to let him know she loves him more than all the girls before her. 9. You Proof - Morgan Wallen Another song by Morgan Wallen, which features on the Hot 100 list! This song was released in late May 2022 and was written by Ashley Gorley, ERNEST, Morgan Wallen and Charlie Handsome. Yet again, this song features on his new album 'One Thing at a Time'. Fun fact here, the said album has 36 songs on it, so no wonder so many are on the Billboard Hot 100! The song itself describes a man that, no matter what he does, can’t forget his ex, all he can achieve is hurting himself. 10. As It Was - Harry Styles For the...I believe third time now, this song features on our Top 10 Songs in The Howler. It is currently at the 15th spot in the Billboard Hot 100 list and I have no doubt it will remain on the list for a few good months. Just to remind you all, As It Was’ was written by Kid Harpoon, Tyler Johnson and, of course, Harry himself. According to the singer, this song is about the ‘metamorphosis' and embracing the change of former self. |
