Welcome to House News
Here you will find an update on what all four houses are up to and what they have coming up!
By Aurelia West
With a new term comes new things to explore throughout all of the house common rooms! I've done a bit of searching and bring you some upcoming highlights!
Ravenclaw is just wrapping up on Pole to Pole, a magical winter activity headed by Prefect in Training, Chantel Poole. February brings Silvana Mandeville's 'Love Can't Be Said', an activity surrounding falling in love and confessions that come too late. And for March? Well, it's Ravenclaw Pride Month so the eagles are firing on all cylinders. I've heard the sweets continue with magical Candy Land themed activities! The Debate Club is always open for a friendly debate, and eagles discuss their pop culture passions in E=MC Hammer. Eagles can also reach out to Prof. Sindor Aloyarc for more information about the Ravenclaw Quidditch Team, or its accompanying cheerleaders, The Salsa Squad. Gryffindor is having some troubles with trolls this month, but they are luckily offering rubies to those brave enough to lend aid. They are also offering a new roleplay prompt, discussions at the Fat Lady's Portrait, and games aplenty at Peeves Place! For news, Gryffindors can visit Here Dwell the Brave and get more Quidditch information at Cubs with Clubs. Additionally, new Gryffindor prefects have been promoted! Reyyan Azkendra and Lorainia Riverrider take up shiny new positions, so make sure to send congratulations their way! In Hufflepuff this month, Amy Darvill takes us to Ireland in Wonders of the World. Plus there are always pictures to color at the Creative Club, puzzles to solve in the Department of Huffle Games and Sports, and badger-specific activities in the Kitchen and Library. Lots happening in the Sett! By the fireplace, you will see which musical artist Harry Walles is featuring in February, and in the Broom Cupboard badgers can get more quidditch information or can contact HQT captain, Katelin Ross. Slytherin has just begun its annual Winter Fling, with wintery tasks released every few days. And if you're missing exchanging gifts with fellow HOLers, Silver Snake is running alongside it. Hopefully no presents get snatched! There are also things to do in the Creative Club, Arcade Club, and Puzzle Corner. Snakes can find themselves a sidekick, start a journal, or join a Green vs. Silver team at any time as well. Slytherin would also like to congratulate new Promising Student, Caius Magnusson! Lastly, more information about Quidditch can be found at the Locker Room Entrance in the Dungeons or by contacting Prof. Will Lestrange. And that's all for this issue! Each house sure has a lot going on in February, so there's no lack of places to get involved. Many thanks to Prof. Sky Alton, Prof. Sindor Aloyarc, and Prof. Tarma Amelia Black for all the information gathering! |
