Have you ever had a dream that was so outlandish or incomprehensible that you just had to get to the meaning of it? Do you ever dream of reoccurring themes that bewilder and baffle you? Then you're in the right place!
Welcome to Evie's Dream Suite! This is where I invite a lucky HOLer or two to sit down with me to have one of their dreams interpreted! Please keep in mind that dream reading isn't an exact science, and any conclusions I make should be taken lightly. Now with out of the way, my first lovely guest is Hiya Debnath of Ravenclaw! Hiya's dream is not too uncommon. It involves school, exams and supernatural creatures. Everyone has experienced dreaming of such things, however lets delve into why Hiya is dreaming of them! Let's begin! Hiya's dream starts off with her waking up in the morning, late for school. Hiya actually happens to be well into adulthood and hasn't attended school in years, so because she's dreaming of such settings, it could mean several things. Dreaming of school as an adult may indicate the dreamer's (Hiya's) anxiety when it comes to authoritative figures. Because we are students in school, we rely on our teachers to guide us, so as an adult, we continue to seek out that guidance. So, dreaming of being back in that situation may indicate Hiya's need for an authoritative figure in her waking life. Hiya is late for class and must get there quickly. On her way there, however, she realizes the route to school is blocked by a protest of some sort. Now, I want to focus on that for a second. Hiya is already late for school, yet comes across a barrier in her way, preventing her from getting there on time. Because of this "blockage", that may indicate that Hiya is being "blocked" in real life, meaning she may feel stagnant when it comes to aspects of her life or career. This may indicate Hiya needs to take a step back, and reevaluate her life, and determine what those 'blocking' factors are, and effectively move on from them. Next in Hiya's dream, she is forced to embark on an alternate route, as the protest is blocking all streets that lead to school. She finds a road she's never seen before and decides to take it. Now, taking a route unfamiliar to her may indicate Hiya's desire to escape from whatever may be holding her back in her real life. Her unconscious may be telling her she needs to expand her horizons and branch out into the world, exploring ventures she's never experienced before. Continuing down her new route, Hiya then finds herself away from the city and into a "tribal village" she has never been to. The village is very different from her home town and the houses are straw huts. The villagers don't look too happy to have her there. She's fearful, as she doesn't know how these strangers are going to treat her. She soon meets a son and his father, who offer her food and tea once they persuade her back to their hut. She was apprehensive, as she could not understand their language, yet their kind gestures showed her she could trust them. Now, as I said above, dreaming of unfamiliar places indicates Hiya's desire to explore the world beyond her capability. In regards to dreaming of this son and father, taking her into their home, that may indicate Hiya's need for community. Perhaps Hiya needs to reconnect with a distant family member or involve herself in the community she lives in. The final stage of Hiya's dream follows her as she leaves the village and her newfound friends, finally making it to school. Once at school, she is to begin an important English exam, one she knows she fully prepared for. She gets the exam from her teacher, yet when she receives it she realizes it's a math exam and not an English one. She decides to take the test anyway, to the best of her ability. Now, the fact that Hiya was willing to take a chance at the math exam and not complain that she received the wrong paper, indicates Hiya is very capable of overcoming obstacles in her waking life. This, to me, symbolizes Hiya's great strength and perseverance as an individual. Eventually, the exam is over, however Hiya informs the teacher she isn't finished, yet the dream transfers her into a science classroom. This seemingly indicates she has passed her exam. She is now lost and completely unaware of the lessons and subject matter of this new science class. Now, dreaming of classrooms in general may indicate Hiya's need for learning and personal growth. However she also dreamed she couldn't understand the subject matter. This, to me, indicates Hiya may not be ready for certain aspects of her waking life and she may need to educate herself of certain situations before dedicating herself to anything serious. Once Hiya's school day is over, she makes her way back onto the school bus to take her home. While on the bus ride, she glances out the window and sees the village she visited earlier that day. The village looks different, as it now seems abandoned with no human beings in sight. This can have several different interpretations. First, it may indicate Hiya's fear of change. The village, now abandoned, may represent Hiya's old way of life, and that she is now on this bus, leaving it all behind. Secondly, it may represent Hiya's loneliness or the isolation she feels within her waking life. Now, as Hiya looks out the bus window, she sees a werewolf emerge from the village. The werewolf begins to chase the bus and with each step it grows bigger and scarier. Hiya screams along with the other terrified students. It was then that Hiya woke up. Now, the werewolf chasing Hiya's bus may represent an aspect or person in Hiya's life that she may feel threatened by. This threat can come in many forms, and in Hiya's case, it was a werewolf. Werewolves in particular represent danger and unpredictability. So, Hiya may have aspects of her life that may need caution before perusing. As I have said at the beginning of this article, dream reading is not exactly a science and should be taken very lightly in regards to making big decisions in your waking life! Any and all dreams are each personalized to that individual and each dream experience is unique. Should you need any advice or input in regards to your personal life, a dream reader may not be the best option, however it can be a fun activity for dream enthusiasts to pursue! Thank you for joining myself and Hiya on this wonderful journey! Please join me next time where I delve into an entirely new HOLer's dream world! |
