Welcome to House News
Here you will find an update on what all four houses are up to and what they have coming up!
By Prof. Sky Alton
The summer holidays might be upon us but that doesn’t mean that there’s nothing to do around the castle - quite the opposite, in fact. There will be activities on the HOL forum and house common rooms throughout July and August so make sure you stop back to check out what’s on offer!
A new magical activity that will help you see the castle in a whole new light will be landing on the HOL forum on the 3rd of July. The HOL Book Club also have a summer poetry festival planned, kicking off a little later in the month. And now for the houses… Gryffindor Gryffindor are just finishing up with an intriguing internship at the offices of the Wizengamot. After all that investigation, it’s little wonder the next stop (and activity theme) is the carnival for some rest and relaxation. Keep an eye on The Den for more information about when the fair is coming to town. You should also check out their new monthly activity: ‘Light Reading’. Beginning in July, there will be creative and puzzle prompts themed around a new wizarding book every month! Hufflepuff Wonders of the World will be whisking you off to two new locales this summer. Jet off to Korea in July with your tour guide Amy Darvill and then head onto Egypt with Prof. Tarma Amelia Black in August. There'll be challenges in the Games Tent (Department of Huffle Games and Sports) and Harry Walles will be coming up with two new musical wizards to highlight in July and August. There will be colouring pages and jigsaws to do in the Creative Club as well! Ravenclaw Ravenclaw haven’t quite pinned down their summer plans yet but if you’re quick, you can still delve into the fascinating Woodside Mystery during the first part of July - the residents need you to help get to the bottom of the baffling case! Remember, you can also play a game or two in Icebreakers, stop by the Debate Club for some stimulating conversation or (if you’re an eagle) talk all things pop culture in E=MC Hammer. Slytherin Slytherin are still reeling from their time-tastic adventure through history to restore the legendary Emerald Cup. Depending on when you read this, you may just have time yourself to complete a few tasks before the deadline of June 30th! The Slug Clubs will continue to offer fun throughout the summer. Get artsy in the Creative Club, accept the challenge in the Arcade Club, enjoy fun and games in the GOBstones club or have a pleasantly puzzling time in Puzzle Corner. Whatever you have planned, have an amazing summer break! With special thanks to Prof. Sindor Aloyarc and Prof. Tarma Amelia Black. |
